Music Ministries
The role of music ministry here at St Joseph's is integral to the celebration of each liturgy and sacrament, and all of us are called to raise our voice in song to praise our Lord. Music is first and foremost prayer, a form of prayer that dates to the earliest times in the Church and continues today to lead each liturgy. Music assists us to express and share the faith that is within us and to nourish and strengthen our interior commitment of faith. If you have any questions regarding the Ministry of Music here at St Joseph's, please contact our Director of Music, at 262.662.2832 Ext. 15.
- Liturgical Choir: The Liturgical Choir is open to all parishioners, high school age through adult, who enjoy singing and can carry a tune. To us, it doesn't matter what talent level you have, it is about enjoying singing to the Lord and giving thanks. The choir rehearses every Thursday evening in the church at 7:00 p.m. The choir normally sings at the 10:30 a.m. liturgy each Sunday and helps enhance the liturgy every weekend from September through Pentecost.
- Cantors: Cantors are parishioners, high school age through adult, who lead the congregational singing at all liturgies, as well as proclaim the Responsorial Psalm. Cantors are scheduled on a rotating basis, based on availability. This is one of the most important parts of the music ministry. Our Director of Music is a available for additional rehearsal, as well as training.
- Instrumentalists: Instrumentalists are parishioners who play an instrument who would like to share the gift of music with the parish. Instrumentalists must have a intermediate to advanced skill level. This is an area in which we are in great need in our music ministry. The Director of Music is more than willing to help prepare and maintain all music for each musician.
