School Choice

Background

School Choice allows students whose families meet certain income qualifications the ability to attend a participating private or religious school of their choice, TUITION FREE.  What’s more, once a student qualifies for Choice, they can keep their voucher through 12th grade even if family income rises, as long as they do not voluntarily leave the program.

Students applying for Choice must meet applicable residency, age, prior year attendance, and income requirements described hereTo determine eligibility, parents must APPLY ONLINE here.

Income limits for those who reside in the City of Milwaukee or Racine Unified School District are shown in Table 1.  Income limits for all other Wisconsin residents are shown in Table 2.  Family size includes parents/legal guardians and their children by birth, marriage or adoption that reside in the same household as the student applicant.  If the parents/legal guardians are married, their family income should be reduced by $7,000 when comparing to the tables.
