Welcome to Saint Joseph Parish

Father Dick Robinson

As pastor, let me welcome you to our parish website here in Big Bend, named after the bend the Little Fox River takes in our community.

We began in 1872 as a small farming community, and although today we have grown to nearly 1,000 families, we still maintain the caring of family where we want you to feel at home. Browse through our website to find the information you need, and then let us come to know you personally. Contact any of us in the manner in which you are most comfortable. We're here to serve you. God's blessings on your day.

Fr. Dick Robinson

Come to Families in His Presence

Families in His Presence invites families to come together and pray before the Blessed Sacrament at special Holy Hours. The next upcoming Family Holy Hour will be Friday evening March 12 at 7 pm and will be hosted at St. Francis de Sales Seminary in Milwaukee. Fr. James Lobacz, Director of Vocations for the Milwaukee Archdiocese will lead this Holy Hour. Bring your entire family as these are all orientated towards children and young people within the context of the family. Hope to see many moms and dads with their families on March 12. Light refreshments will follow the Holy Hour. The Seminary is an awesome site for this - see you there!

Communal Reconciliation

St. Joseph's Parish will offer an opportunity for communal reconciliation at 10 am on Saturday, March 13. Several priests will be available to hear confessions. This will serve as the parish communal reconciliation for the Lenten season.

MOMSNext (Mothers of school age kids) Focus Group

Meeting the needs of moms in our community shouldn't stop once you send your kids off to school. Right now our St. Joe's MOPS group does an amazing job of ministering to moms with children ages 0-5, but a mom's need for community, fellowship, and support does not stop once the kids are in school. Challenges and joy shift as you move into this next season of life. MOPS International has spent time focusing on how to implement a sister ministry to MOPS to help minister to moms in this next season of life. MOMSNext is this answer to prayer! MOMSNext is in it's inaugural year of ministry and is catching on fast. At St. Joe's we're ready to catch the wave and hold on for the adventures in mothering together!

MOMSNext will look a little different than MOPS, but the essential keys of providing fellowship and building community in Jesus' name are the same. What we need to know now is as a mother of school ages kids- what are your needs? We need your help to develop a program that Moms with school age kids will want to attend, be beneficial to them and work in their schedule with the increased activities of their kids. Join me on Monday March 15th for fellowship and discussion as we explore how to best implement this important ministry at St. Joe's! We'll meet S86 W18536 Sue Marie Lane in Muskego at 6:30. I look forward to exploring more about this exciting new adventure together!

Retrouvaille: Lifeline for Trouble Marriages

Retrouvaille: Lifeline for Trouble Marriages Marriage is about beautiful weddings, romance, love and candlelight anniversary dinners, but marriage is also about dirty laundry, confrontations, balancing budgets, and hanging in there with teens. Retrouvaille is a program designed to provide help and support to married couples who are undergoing difficulties in their relationship, for those who are hurting in brokenness and loneliness. It has proven helpful to couples who are separated or divorced. Although Retrouvaille is Catholic in origin, couples from all or no faith traditions are welcome to attend.

Attend Lenten Morning Prayers

We are inviting every Parish member to join us in a special devotion of Morning Prayer from the Liturgy of the Hours beginning Saturday morning February 20.

Long ago Christians began to devote themselves to a very serious life of prayer. It was common to have a special community prayer at specific times of the day, morning prayer, mid-day Prayer, mid-afternoon prayer and evening prayer. The communities were following the lead of the Apostles and Christ who urged us to pray always. Today the Liturgy of the Hours is an official prayer used by Bishops, Priests and Deacons as well as the layman. The prayers follow a specific formula that includes Psalms, Songs, Scripture Readings and Intercessions. Each day different prayer and readings are used. For the seasons of Lent and Advent different prayer and readings are used. There are also special reading and prayers for Holy Days and Saint's Anniversaries. The Liturgy of the Hours is meant to be a community prayer with and for the Church along with all the Saints.

We are going to celebrate the Liturgy of the Hours at Morning Prayer for six Saturdays starting February 20 at 8 am in the Day Chapel. The Morning Prayer will take about 20-30 minutes. Please consider joining us.
