Grade 8
I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary / Middle Level Education Grades 1 - 8, with a minor in Health Education Pre-K through 12 from the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater.
I believe when learning is fun and engaging, a student will retain more information for a longer period of time. I use as many hands-on activities as I can to reinforce concepts I teach in my classroom and try to reach each and every student at their own level. My goal is to teach my students the skills necessary to be successful in high school and beyond.
I love teaching at Saint Joseph Catholic School. It allows me to teach the whole child; mind and soul. I love being in an environment where I can share the teachings of our Catholic Faith, pray everyday, and attend weekly mass. I feel so fulfilled teaching at a Catholic School, and I am so grateful for all the support from the staff and families here at Saint Joseph.
I enjoy cheering on the Badgers, Packers, and Brewers with my family and friends. Spending time with my family is very important to me. Family movie and game night is always high on my list. I also enjoy reading a good book or doing crafts.
"My kids absolutely love science class. Mrs Kurz challenges them to think critically and outside their comfort zone. Her instruction is fun, engaging and very informative. Students in her class go off to high school extremely well prepared for advanced level science courses."
"Mrs. Kurz is an amazing teacher! She makes learning fun. My daughter is a freshman in high school and taking Biology. She said what they are learning in Biology was a recap of what she learned in Mrs. Kurz' class. She felt extremely prepared."
"Mrs. Kurz does a great job having the kids be responsible for their work so they are understanding the assignment or task at hand; she does it in a way the kids are appreciative of her guidance. Mrs. Kurz is a great value to our students. We are truly blessed to have her!"
