3K (Three-Year-Old Kindergarten)
I completed my elementary education teaching studies at the College of St. Scholastica - St. Paul and have been an early childhood teacher for four years, mostly within Catholic Schools both here in Wisconsin and in Minnesota. I have taught 2K, 3K, 4K and 5K as a licensed teacher and have also worked as an aide or lead teacher in a preschool setting for two additional years while going to school for teaching. I find the most joy in helping young learners make discoveries about the world around them, their faith, and friendship!
I believe that young children thrive within a safe environment with established routines and boundaries in order to be successful in a school setting. Within this setting, children are given opportunities to become independent and grow in their cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and faith development through free exploration, thematic play-based centers, and teacher led-activities. A classroom culture of respect and love for one another are at the center of creating our St. Joe's school family!
I have always sought out teaching positions within Catholic Schools because I appreciate truly feeling like part of a family and community where I am supported and understood. I love being able to share my faith with students through prayer, bible stories and leading by example with Catholic values. I am excited to be joining the St. Joe's team as we work together to inspire love in every word, respect in every action, and confidence in every heart!
I am a twin! I used to be a pastry chef! My husband and I love spending time outside in both the summer and winter months camping, hiking, paddleboarding, ice skating and snow shoeing!
