I earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education (birth - 3rd grade) from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, with a certificate in English as a Second Language - Early Childhood.
I believe that a classroom should be a safe and nurturing environment where children are able to blossom and develop at their own rate. It is my job as an educator to facilitate that atmosphere so each child can grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, spiritually, physically, and socially. It is my desire to help students reach their full potential by cultivating a curriculum that is centered around their interests, learning styles, and abilities, which stimulates their curiosity, imagination, and passion to learn.
I chose to teach at a Catholic school because I love that I can freely share and grow in my faith with my students and other members of the community! There is an overwhelming sense of community and unwavering support at St. Joseph's that I have not been able to find anywhere else.
I love the outdoors! In my spare time, I enjoy taking long walks with my English Cream Retriever named Winston on the Ice Age Trail. I also have a passion for running and participating in various races throughout the year. When I am not running, you can find me rollerblading or hiking with my best friend, Lea. In the summer, I usually spend a month out west with my extended family, where I work as a camp counselor in Big Sky, Montana.
"Ms. Wartman is amazing! She is super organized, very creative, and always makes learning fun for the kids!"
"St. Joe's is filled with great teachers, and Ms. Wartman is one of those teachers that you and your child will remember into adulthood. She is exceptional! She makes learning fun and exciting for the students. My son is excited to see her each day and can't wait to tell me what he learned that night. Having a child talk about their school day can be tough so when they are excited to tell you about it, wow, she is doing something right!"
"Ms. Wartman has a natural ability to recognize and make each student feel special. This is a great talent and builds confidence in the kids. We just love her energy! During Covid-19, Ms. Wartman went above and beyond for her students and their families. She had regular contact offering 1:1 zoom meetings as needed in addition to having class virtual lunches, game nights, and drawing classes. These helped the students remain connected to her and their classmates during a time of uncertainty."
