Angela Post - Grade 1 Teacher

My Qualifications

I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, with a minor in Special Education, from the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater.

My Teaching Philosophy

I believe that every child has the ability to learn at the same pace as everyone else.  Sometimes you just need to differentiate your lessons to make sure they understand.  They may need more one on one lessons, extra time or explaining on assessments, manipulatives, or just some extra confidence, it can be done.  Not every child comprehends each subject the same way.  We are all different, and we may learn differently than our peers, but that does not mean that we cannot learn the same material.  Sometimes, it takes a little help.  :)

Why do I teach at St. Joe's?

Teaching at a Catholic school is much more than teaching at a public school - you are able to talk about and express your faith.  Saying things that you believe in is not frowned upon or dismissed but encouraged.  I am able to pray out loud, with the students who need some extra prayers, having a prayer corner for students to know they can go to if they need a minute to talk with God, and you are not able to do any of this in a public school.

Fun Facts about Me

I like to do crafts.  Basic crafts.  I also love animals.  I have 14 chickens, 2 Nigerian pygmy goats, 2 dogs and 2 cats.

What Others are Saying about Mrs. Post

"Mrs. Post is great because her colorful classroom matches her colorful personality!"

"Mrs Post spends every morning zooming with the kids, making staying at home still fun and interactive.  She posts fun science projects and is always checking in and keeping us motivated.  Don't know what we would do without her!!!"

"We feel so blessed to have Mrs. Post as a teacher.  She truly has gone above and beyond to ensure that her students continue to learn, feel like a cohesive class group, and feel special even when they cannot physically be in the classroom.  Her daily zoom meetings and assignments are meaningful, challenging, and productive.  She also regularly sends the students fun mail, emails, and letters of encouragement.  The technology that she had already been utilizing before all of this made the transition quick and easy, and the new technology that she quickly familiarized herself with has really made the transition to virtual learning seamless.  She is organized, thoughtful, and selfless.  She has already developed relationships with the younger siblings and makes sure to check in with them too.  She doesn’t just ROCK, she is an absolute gem."
