5-8th Grade Math
Sandy Witkowski
My Qualifications:
I attended UWM where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a certification for grades 1-8. Later I continued my education where I received a Master’s degree in Education focusing on Instructional Technology from Cardinal Stritch University. I have been teaching for over twenty years for multiple grades, where I have developed a deep understanding of how students at different grade levels learn.
My Philosophy:
My philosophy revolves around one central point—showing students why they should care about their learning. I want my students to understand with their mind and their relationship with God, they can accomplish goodness. As a teacher, I strive to help my students be the best they can possibly be. It is important to me that all of my students feel valued and loved in my classroom and that each of them knows that they are a child of God. An extension of this is teaching, I ask my students to love one another through the example of Jesus.
Why I Teach at St Joe’s:
I come from a strong Catholic family where growing up my parents sent me to Catholic schools in the Milwaukee, New Berlin and Waukesha areas. After college I decided to continue spreading Jesus’ Word and love through working at different Catholic Schools throughout my career. I have enjoyed working in a faith based community and welcoming environment of smaller schools and truly feel a sense of family here at St. Joe’s. I strongly believe that Catholic Schools help children in moral development and self discipline where students can grow to their full potential.
Fun Facts About Me:
In my free time I enjoy cooking new recipes and being with family and friends. During the summer months I love being outside, enjoying time at my camper and kayaking. For each holiday I look forward to decorating my house turning it into whatever season wonderland it is. I have a miniature pinscher named Georgia who I absolutely adore! Whenever I get the chance, I enjoy long road trips and am ready to explore new places and try new things.
