How to Join St. Joe's Girl Scouts
We invite you to become a part of Girl Scouting and help us realize our dream - a world where every girl who wants to be a Girl Scout can do so; a world where adult volunteers become mentors and role models for girls; and a world where the Girl Scout Program is as diverse as the girls it serves.
- Girl Scouts welcomes all girls regardless of race, color, ethnicity, creed, national origin, religious affiliation, physical ability, or socioeconomic status.
- Girl Scouts is open to all girls between the ages of 5 and 17 and men and women over the age of 18.
- All members need to make the Girl Scout Promise and accept the Girl Scout Law.
- Members pay annual membership dues of $25 (financial assistance is available).

Beginning in 5th grade, students are invited to become mass servers. Those interested must receive their parent's permission, at which time, the student will be fully trained in the ministry of mass server. After training is complete, new servers are generally paired with a current server to help aide in their transition. Day school students have the opportunity to serve weekday as well as, weekend, holy day and sacramental masses. Those servers who do not attend our day school will have the same opportunities of serving, with the exception of morning weekday masses. A schedule indicating which day and mass each server will be responsible for is emailed to each server and their family.
All students in grades 5-8 are encouraged to join this important ministry. Please contact Ms. Deb Smith for more information.
National Junior Honor Society
The National Junior Honor Society is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle school students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1929. Students at St. Joseph School are inducted into NJHS in the spring.
Led by Director, Bob Hudy, the band is comprised of percussion, brass, and reed instruments. Mr. Hudy has been teaching since 1976 and has been a band director at all school age levels. He has a degree in Music Education with instrumental certification from UW-Milwaukee. Band allows students in grades 3-8 the ability to express their musicality and creativity as well as teaches them to work together as a team in order to make music which is both pleasing and inspiring. Band practice is held on Monday mornings during school with each of the groups meeting on a rotating schedule so that children are never taken out of the same class every week. Sometimes the weekly lesson brings the entire band together and practice is always 45 minutes long. Students sign up for a semester at a time. You can hear our Band perform at our Christmas and Spring Concerts and at Catholic School’s open house. Other events outside of school may also be scheduled.
School Music Ministry
There is group of students who help lead the weekly school mass. These students practice prior to the mass in order to learn and develop their leadership skills for the school mass. Any student, grades 5-8, is encouraged to be involved in this music ministry. They will learn all the music for each weekly mass and have the great opportunity to sing and praise for the entire school. Please join this portion of the music ministry at St. Joseph.
