Congratulations for surviving our week of school!  It really seems that everyone caught on quickly to changing classes and being organized throughout the day.  Be sure to check the homework page daily against your student planner.  This will help develop good study habits and you will be successful in your school work.

Reminder- All hard cover books must be covered with paper book covers. Please do not use book sox as they damage the binding of the books.  Brown paper bags work well.

Also, cargo shorts/pants are not included in our uniform policy.  We have had a few students in the cargo shorts.  Please see the uniform section of the handbook for more information.  Thank you.

I hope you are as excited about this school year as I am!  We will be doing many fun activities as the year progresses.  I know you will enjoy the special projects and field trips that I have planned for you.

Our first special activity is our Grandparents' Day Celebration.  A note went home on Thursday, Sept. 4th to explain the details.  Our Grandparents' Day Celebration is scheduled for Friday, 9/12, from 1:00-2:15.  Please have your child invite his or her grandparents or special senior friend(s) to join us.  Ask you child for the handout which was sent home for more information.

The school theme this year is “We Make a Difference Here at St. Joe’s!” 

I encourage students to bring a healthy snack and water to school each day.  We take a snack break mid-morning. 

Remember to bring gym clothes on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  We'll begin library soon, so library books will be due each week on Monday.
