St. Joseph School offers a comprehensive physical education program. It begins with our K4 students learning basic motor skills such as hopping, running, and jumping. As our students grow and develop, students are introduced to team sports including volleyball, basketball, kickball, softball, etc.
We not only teach the rules of the games, but also teach the importance of good sportsmanship and teamwork.
Each year, St. Joseph Catholic School sponsors an annual Jump Rope/Hoops for Heart Day in which students jump rope or play in an inter-grade (teams consisting of players from at least one grade on each team) basketball tournament in honor of/or in memory of someone.
In Spring the children participate in an all-school event called Field Day where students from all classes form 4 teams and compete against each other in various physical challenges that has built from their year of physical education skills.
