1st graders should always remember to respect each other, follow the rules, help others, and try their best! What do we learn in 1st grade? 1st graders focus on reading! Students write creative sentences. 1st graders learn how to add, subtract, count money, tell time, graph, read a calendar, measure and use manipulatives to solve problems. Students learn about the weather, living and non-living things, magnets, oceans, and trees. Children learn how to interpret/make maps and about our community. Students learn about how Jesus wants us to treat others through reading the Bible, composing skits, and special projects. SPECIAL SCHEDULE Monday- Gym, library Tuesday-Spanish Wednesday- Gym, art (every other week) Thursday- Computer (1 hour), music Friday- Mass, Spanish
