(After School Kids) Welcome to the 2007-2008 school year. We hope you had a great summer and look forward to spending the school year with you. Together we can make a difference! We are happy to be offering the After School Kids (ASK) program for the fourth year at St. Joe's. If you are new to our after school program let me introduce you to the staff who will be working with your children: Debrah Peterson, ( Mrs. P.) Coordinator; Nancy Sweetman, Assistant Coordinator. We can usually be found in the school cafeteria, the only exceptions are Fridays after 4:00, and when there are funerals or special events. We will then be in the Luke room down the hall from Mrs. Holman's office. You can pick your child up using the Kitchen doors off of St. Joseph Drive. Please ring the door bell. On Fridays and in the event of a funeral, please use the church doors closest to the kindergarten room. Our day looks like: Your children begin to arrive around 2:15-2:25, after we greet them, we begin homework time, if your child does not have homework, we offer quiet games, crafts and activities until most children have completed their homework. We do offer homework assistance and work with the children on their spelling words and other test study guides that they may have. Once homework is completed we head outdoors for some physical activity, weather permitting. Around 4:00 we head back in to wash up and have a snack. We do ask that you not send extra food unless there is enough for everyone, that way, no one's feelings are hurt, birthday treats are optional. General Guidelines: Our fee schedule is .00/hour for the first child, and .00/hour for all subsequent children. We ask that you pay on your child's last day in attendance for the week, or by Friday, the latest. A late fee will be assessed if we do not receive your payment by Friday, of the week your child attends. Also please note that there is a fee of per minute after 6:00 pm, as our staff need to get home to their families. Cancellations: We do ask for a 24 hour notice for cancellations, at the very latest please contact either the school office or my home by noon of the day your child is scheduled to attend, as there is a late cancellation charge for the first hour for each child scheduled to attend ( See below for my phone number). Add ons: We will accept add ons for any given day up until 1:30. To do so, please contact either the school office or my home phone, we will handle emergency situations on an individual basis.
